Introductions are hard, especially when it's your first time. Yes, can you hear Madonna's "Like a Virgin" playing in the back ground? So back from the bunny trail, this is the introduction to my Deviant Art Account. It was designed to help the writer, me, overcome something that most people at this age in life deal with "Boredom" and possibly some angst that is always thrown in to anything by this writers age group.
How did the title of this journal come to be? Well it's kind of a funny story, no not like the amazing movie which in a way is extremely inspirational and someday this author will own a copy of. The story starts a few years back, well less than a few but more than one, with the first solving of a Rubik's Cube in front of the writer by a, well, unlikely character. It can be said that this out of ordinary "Solver" did not fit any criteria for a Rubik's Cube solver in fact he was completely the opposite of such things. But in the same essence that cannot be a completely accurate statement because well to but quiet blunt there is a stereotype that he could have fallen under and that is "The Fresh Prince of Bellaire", the solving of such cube is how Will Smith got into Harvard, correct.
Either way, blown away by this unlikely solving of what the author thought was impossible at the time; the "Solver" offered his particular skills to anyone with a willingness to learn and a very large amount of patience. Now Reader some people are never meant to be teachers, some have slight ability, and some is it by fate or by simple notion can teach you anything. The statement that "Solver" was a great teacher of pure brilliance that could enlighten a room by stepping in cannot be made but he was not lacking in the skills necessary for such a task.
Thus the road to solving the cube was taken with barely a glance at any map. Tears were shed, mp3s were looked at as if they held some answer other than music, and professors were annoyed. Over a period of one week the tricks of the Rubik's cube trade were bestowed upon a few willing disciples, these disciples being of different cloth in the school world soon had something in common that brought them in a way to something close to a friendship. This being of course the soon hatred of Rubix cubes, then later an admirable respect even tolerance, and finally almost a love of the inanimate object that cried in protest from all the working it had. Whilst there were three disciples there was only two cubes passed among them, until finally one disciple broke down buying one for herself. These cubes highly worked were on the home stretch of their life span; not lubing a Rubix cube shortens its life span by years. Creaks of protest and immovable sides sometimes went against the disciples but soon one by one they learned the secrets that they so craved. They learned the ability that all secretly wishes for, the ability of course to impress the masses of sheeple we call our peers.
Now as the "Solver" congratulated them with a smile and sardonic remark on how long it took each, they entered the world as "Masters of the Cube". This title baring some semblance that they were lovers of this inanimate object though they were not in fact masters of the cube, but the cube was master of them. Not all in the same way, for it has already been stated that each disciple was of different cloth but to each their own, correct? It can be said that all finally soon became possessor of their own puzzle, slightly representing their own liking. The Author of this article became owner of a generic brand of cube called "The Magic Cube" a more brightly colored version of the old fashion model containing purple and neon green. It is true that this cube was originally bought as a generic because it was cheaper, but also because during a vacation to "The Smokies" boredom plagued the artistic mind of the Youngest Disciple. This colorful cube soon became a close friend giving to her hours of distractions and interesting concepts. This passion for solving soon became a slight distractor from stress and allowed many things to be thought through while going through the familiar patterns. These lovers stayed together for almost two years before sadly "The Magic Cube" breathed its last breath. Heartbroken it can be said that the Author mourned her fallen sexless friend. It took two months to finally decide that it was time to reenter the cubing world once again. This time it was decided that a more durable cube was needed so that breakage would not be such a problem and thus "The Magic Cube's" predecessor would be a worthy replacement.
Now that for the most part the Story is caught up, Reader you must be able to guess what the Author of this blog decided to do she of course decided to invest in a Wooden Rubik's cube. However it has been found out that finding this elusive beast is harder than finding a smoking asthmatic dog. Many a store has been scoured for said treasure, but to no avail. Once the Internet was brought into the search it was soon found that Target was a proper feeding ground, yet the author has never had a chance to find the creature in its natural habitat.
Now how does this story relate to life, stereotypes, facts, fiction, and love? Well how does it not, this small inanimate object is a part life. It was there during the tears of relationships, the joys of holidays and summers, and the fears of high school with all it entails. So it was decided that the journal should be named after the search for something dear to the life of this author, it is also in memory of "The Magic Cube".
This journal and Deviant art account about life, its mysteries, and emotional rollercoasters we board, I believe has now been properly introduced. I hope you find these writings enjoyable and enlightening, even possibly humorous, but that is for you to decide so do not let my hopes influence you; I'll let your thoughts do that.
